Default I bought a wine fridge!

Just thought I'd share my excitement in buying this thing today! Gotta let it sit for 48 hrs before turning on the compressor. It'll be a LONG 48 hours!

Feel free to share any tips, tricks thoughts or questions!

I thought the compressor-style wine fridges dried out the internal air too much? Is that incorrect?

One would most certainly need an external controller to regulate the temperature. Johnson's Controls seem to be widely adopted for these purposes.

Also, an active humidity system (Cigar Oasis, Hydra, whatever) should go a long way in a compressor unit.

Not as easy of a road as a thermoelectric unit, but not impossible, either.

Some of these have humidity control built in for their original purpose to not dry out the wine corks . Looks nice and big . Good luck with it . And it sounds like you need to armor plate your mail box now !

I'm not really worried about the condensing (yet) as it's the winter months and we keep our house at 70*. I'm more concerned with keeping humidity in there!

I bought it mostly for a larger central storage place to keep all my smokes...I have a couple desktops that are a full and need to be moved in. I figured it was big enough that I wouldn't outgrown it.

Also, for the price, I couldn't have gotten a humi this large...it was only $273 out the door!

Yes! Much better. Perhaps you used paper with too much texture!

Very nice!!!

During the winter I wouldn't worry about plugging it in!!!

I keep mine unplugged and it stays room temp! Beads will help keep the RH where you want it!

Enjoy!!!
