Default Xikar Travel Humi Reviews?

The time has come The reason I'm looking at these is they have the size I want; 50-80 count and cheap. Just wondering who has them (Xikars travel humis in general), assuming all sizes are of similar build quality, just looking for opinions.

Also, I like the foam trays, very long and wide, which should accomadate a wide variety of sizes and hold two small cigars in one slot. I want to be able to take large sticks Sublime Extras to small Ninfas.

Thanks for any input.

I have the 10 count. Since I smoke 60RG logs for the most part, it doesn't hold 10. More like a well-padded 6. But, I have no complaints so far.

I have a ten count that is working great. I did find out the hard way that it vacuums itself shut when it gets on the airplane though.

All travel humidors vacuum shut during flight due to the altitude (mine also did it when I drove from Denver up skiing).

The larger units have a pressure release knob on the front (just make sure to keep the valve closed all the time, especially prior to travel).

The smaller ones have a small notch on the front to pry open with a coin

I hope this helps

~Mark

ps - the Xikar models have a hole in the lid foam that accommodates a Puck-ifier 100 perfectly where as the Cigar Caddy does not

That is what happened to me. I got into Korea and found that the humidor wouldn't open ... about 45 minutes later and thankful for a solid metal spoon in the room, I was able to get it opened. Good news is though that the cigars were in tip top shape.

Listen to the man he knows from which he speaks.

Oh and 100% my vote on the Xikar, have 2 the small and a thirty count. Wish I had a big one, oh well someday. This is the best box by far, I love it as I tend to forget to unpack my sticks after going out for days and with the humidification in it I never have any issues, I have dropped it on concrete, I have dropped it off a boat. Impact proof waterproof and floats. Now if it was only mooch proof

Had mine seal shut on an airplane. I believe the larger ones have a release valve though so no worries.
