Cigar clippings in a pipe
Has anyone ever saved their clippings from the head of a cigar they cut off and later on smoke them in a pipe?
I was watching some vids on pipe tobacco and saw the "coins" of baccy and it reminded me of the clipping off the head of a cigar. So i'm going to save my clippings and put them in an empty mason jar I have and when I get enough, smoke a bowl of them in my cob. Anyone ever done this? Thoughts?

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. should be interesting to see what kind of blends you could come up with. I might have to try this

Re: Cigar clippings in a pipe
I've been saving various caps for smoking. I never did get around to smoking them, but I will some time. I placed my CC caps in one bag and some caps from better NC's in another.

I would be interested in trying this, was just thinking about a way to try CC leaf in a pipe without destroying a cigar.

I got about a month's worth of clippings from my "better" cigars. Starting a decent collection. I may have enough for a bowl, but I'll keep on saving them up to make sure.

Thankful.

I've tried this with limited success. I think you'll have better luck mixing the clippings with your favorite pipe tobaccos instead of using them by themselves.

Never really interested me- like finishing the nub of a cigar in the pipe. Cigars are cigars, pipes are pipes, and ne'er the twain shall meet.

I've been doing this for several years. I don't really enjoy pipe tobacco but when I'm in the mood for a cigar but don't have the time to invest, I light up my pipe and smoke the caps. Not as good as a cigar but it satisfies the cravings.

I have been doing that for long time. I just take the Nub of the cigar and slide in bowl and smoke. WOW this last one was a great smoke low on the Vit N then after I put it in there and took it to nothing but ash. WOW I should have had dinner first. Just tasted so good didn't want to let it go.

Re: Cigar clippings in a pipe
I've heard Churchill had his batman chop up the butts of cigars for this purpose!
