Anejo quest.
Well my trip to the b&m tonight after work led me to my first anejo purchase... (2) 46's...(2) 48's... and (2) sharks...
my first question is.. im going to smoke one now then age the rest.. since ive never smoked an anejo which should i smoke to get a good experience, and which should i stash away?? and the second... the owner of my local shop told me to take the cedar off before i put it in my humidor.. he says cedar isnt kind to aging anejos.. truth to this? thanks |

smoke em. They great now or later. Smoke one of each, age the others. Take the cedar off just in case.

Re: Anejo quest.
I personally don't like them fresh but give the Shark a whirl and see how you like it.

Re: Anejo quest.
my fave is the 46 with the 50 close behind.
speaking of which - if anyone in nashville is looking for them, i left about 5 behind at uptown's smoke shop (the 50s that's all they had) and i called old world leaf and ale in brentwood - they have them, but are really price gouging (13, 14 bucks a pop). |

Re: Anejo quest.
I say smoke the 50 and age the Sharks as I have noticed that the Sharks seem benefit the most from aging IMHO. Sauer Grapes speaks the truth so I would do what your local recommended and pull the cedar off just to be on the safe side.

Re: Anejo quest.
I store them as they come . As for which to smoke , burn a Shark . I had one today at my local shop , excellent smoke , head and shoulders above last years edition . Plenty of creamy dark chocolate flavor . I bought the last 3 they had . I will seek out more . If you smoke the #46 , make sure you eat a good meal before hand . The #46 is the only cigar to ever kick my arse , sweating , shakes and made me totally nauseas . Ate alot of sugar and drank a soda when it hit .

Re: Anejo quest.
In regards to Anejo prices... this is the first batch affected by SCHIP. MSRP effectively went up $1.50 to $2 per stick. Tampa Sweetheart was selling them for $2 more than last year, and they don't up the price. Think a bit over $10.00 for a #50 without factoring sales tax or any local tobacco tax, then add even more for states that have a high tobacco tax. $13 really isn't too terribly far off at all (of course sales tax would not apply yet since it is a store and it would be on top of the $13).

Re: Anejo quest.
The 46 is a GREAT stick. Love those.
Made myself stay away from the B&M for a while -- dangerous territory for my credit card. But, I'll probably hit it tomorrow . . . so weak. |

Re: Anejo quest.
My local B&M said that fuente asked him if he wanted more that what he ordered for the Anejos's. Acted like they had to many...Looks like they will be plenty available this year...Also have sighted more boxes of BTL this year than I ever saw before.....
Still no Opus Robusto boxes though, only the tins |
