Default 3 second rule - what would you do?

So I am setting up on the porch with the laptop for my weekly, work from home smoke - (a beautiful Los Blancos Maduro Churchill that I got from a pass on another site), when I mindless set the unlit smoke down to let the dog out, and it proceeds to roll off the counter right into the dog's water bowl cut end in.

A quickly grabbed it, gave it a quick rinse and toweled it off.

What's a little dog spit (I had just refilled the bowl)?

It's not like he peed on it right?

What would you do?

I've heard somewhere that a dog's mouth is cleaner than our mouths...or butts. It's one or the other.

Don't quote me on that.

Meh, might have burn issues?

I've heard that many times...but we brush our teeth and don't go licking ourselves.

I'd toss the stick..

That's because if we could, we would never leave the damn house!

When I first started smoking cigars, I had a Nub Connecticut roll off the table outside into the dog dish. I now realize that it was probably the best thing as they are not good.

Yuck. I don't think I'd try to resucitate that stogie unless it was a really, really valuable and irreplacable cigar

I'd smoke it without hesitation... and I don't let my dog lick my face. But that has more to do with his dragon breath than any kind of germaphobia.

Wasn't there a whole thread dedicated to wetting cigars? Maybe we should consider the dog bowl dunking as an alternate method.

It was still fresh water, right??

My own dogs, never would I even think of it.

I have a beagle and a bloodhound. The beagle hates the bloodhound. After he drinks or eats he hikes his leg on what's left in the bowel. The bloodhound will still finish off what's left.

Also, depends on how often you change the water. You could always excise the end if it got soggy with a cutter.

I'd smoke it unless it had burn or draw issues, but I'd have no problem with it hitting the dog's water bowl.

I'm a pretty big germ freak, but man...if it's a nice smoke and it didn't soak in the bowl...I'd probably get a damp paper towel and wipe it off. Maybe clip a little more off the end.

More importantly though, I'd get a cigar holder or more ashtrays so you have one readily available lol
