Default Song Of The Day

I just had this idea of posting a tune daily, or thereabouts anyway, that I'd like to share with my buddies here. Please feel free to add your own.

Enjoy.

I'm not a huge Jeff Beck fan, but that is an insane piece of axe work.
Thanks, Thomas!!!

And some insane acoustic pre-smack work.

Nice ones, Scott. Man, Page looks like a schoolboy in that acoustic clip.

I became a Jeff Beck fan in college, thanks to classmate Joel Brinkley (David's son). He turned me on to Beck, and explained he was hard to get into initially because his style is so odd. Beck starts to play something, and you wonder "WTF is he doing there?!!?" Then he gets to the end, and you understand that "Oh yeah, THAT'S WTF he was doing there!"

A story behind today's cut. Some time back a friend told me she'd checked the forecast not by asking DaBear but by going to a website call Weather Underground. She, being a generation younger than me, did not understand why I looked at her shocked and confused, nor why I suggested it was as odd a name as calling your food service business Al-Cater. You youngsters may not get it either, but we old farts do.

"Sunshine of your Love" by Cream. I love Ginger Baker's drums.

As I get older I enjoy him more and more, if more people had some pride in their towns I think it would spread, become unstoppable, but sadly it's just not to be anymore, not for the majority anyway.

Nice clip, Warren. But why not maybe some Led Zeppelin instead . . . like maybe Black Dog?

(And would you believe that, at this very instant, my internet radio station is playing the studio version of "Sunshine"? )

Use to listen to a lot of his stuff. Met him at a coffee shop right before he started to record stuff.

The Civil Wars - same old same old

Great album.

Something a bit different today. Man, they just don't write songs today the way they used to.

Did Jack Bruce ever do vocals in any other bands aside from Cream?
