Curved cabinet progress
Hi Guys, this is a little project I'm doing. It's a curved humidor cabinet. The wood is Bubinga, Waterfall Bubinga and Gabon Ebony. No ebony yet but that will be next week. It's 57" wide, 42" tall and 32" deep. all 4 sides are bent lamination's. Behind what will be the 3 front doors will be shelves on the 2 outer sides and drawers up the middle. Should hold a couple cigars. Enjoy my friends.
This pic is just lacquer thinner, no finish. This is one coat of Tung oil. |

Re: Curved cabinet progress
Yes and no. I've built a few hand made kitchens but this is my first cabinet humi. I've had to do a lot of research to get it right though. I think the biggest factors are taking into consideration wood movement due to the high humidity inside, containment of the humidity and proper circulation. I think I've got it all worked out. It will be thoroughly tested before it ships to Illinois.
I just finished putting Ebony tips on the legs. They look like long legs in stilettos. Last edited by Humidor Minister; 09-19-2009 at 03:42 PM. |
