Favorite hole in the wall eateries

Been about 7 years since I was here, if you ever go ask for the "big steak" its a hunk of ribeye, grilled to perfection with the fixins. Not to mention the whole bar, floor and walls are covered in with penny's. Cool place in a blink and miss the town, in California.

There is this steakhouse called Jocko's in a town called Nipomo, Ca. It is the best steak I have ever had. And the ugliest resturant I have ever been to. Nipomo is about 30 minutes south of Pismo Beach on Hwy 101, and is only two exits (I think). You have to make reservations, because this place is always packed to the gills. Their filet mignon is huge, and so good. We make it to this steakhouse every time we are even close, and most of the time have to drive out of our way. Highly recommended!

Stand-up joint holds 12 to 20 people (depending on how tight you pack it!). Best hot dogs I've ever had. Been there since 1920's. About only thing left downtown these days. Figure Gus has only a couple years left, and then it will all be gone. Maybe he will pass the secret of his sauce and his meat topping on to someone, somewhere!

Paseo in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. Carribean and cuban food. The sandwiches are unbelievable. Like 4 small tables, cash only and a line that goes out the door and down the block lunch and dinner. Often by 6pm their either out of bread or the cubano sauce and your all done. They close every year from late december to february so they can go back to the islands!

"No place in Seattle could care less whether you come in than Paseo. The shoe-box shack has no sign, takes no credit. Has so few seats that devotees eat outside on the trunks of their cars. What keeps them returning? The milagro that is the Cuban meat sandwich: marinated, slow-cooked pork ganged into a baguette slathered with garlicky mayonnaise, then mounded again with cilantro, jalapeños, and fat O’s of caramelized onions. There's a seafood place here on Long Island called Bigelows they make the greatest ipswitch clams and new england I ever had, its a cash only business and only seats about 15 people

Here is another I forgot about. Its in Moss Landing, CA. I use to stop and get their soft shell crab sandwhich, great! My buddy said the Cioppino was great, never did have it though. By the looks of the website I would have to say they expanded and upgraded.

In Wellington, Florida: Good To Go- This was a Gourmet take-out place that was a frequent eatery that the LJ's crew would indulge in. They used to make a great many dishes that were stellar. Their Chicken Marsala was the best I have ever had. For a time they were doing these Steak sandwiches that were just tremendous. It was easy to go crazy there, and anything on the menu was great!

In Newton, North Carolina: Little Pigs Barbecue- By far the best BBQ joint I have ever been too. They serve pulled pork sandwiches the way they are supposed to be served. Juicy, tender pork topped with slaw and sauce. Paired with beans, Fries, slaw, and Big ass-sweet tea; there is nothing better!

Amazing oysters. They had a problem with not having local oysters after the hurricane, though I'd suspect things are back to normal. They had the biggest & best oysters I've ever ate and on the cheap.
