Default air circulation in large humidor

I have a large 100 ct humidor, but it's only partially filled. I have been finding that certain areas of the humidor are more humid than others (especially the tray). Has anyone put a small fan in their humidor?

I really want one of these but can't cough up the cash for one:

I was thinking of getting a computer fan and hooking up a battery pack to it....

I am currently running 65% Puckifier.....

Put all that in there and you will have a 30 ct humidor space left to use, just an Oust Fan and 1/4 - 1/2 pound of beads should be all you need.

I am not a fan of them but many are and a Cigar Oasis would do it also as it uses a fan to distribute moisture for $100 or so.

That is a pretty neat little unit you linked us to but probably way overkill for 100 ct humi.

Spend your money on more cigars if I were you. Just my 2 cents though.

I'm with Greg on this one...buy more cigars! I would imagine it might help your humidity issues as well. A humidor that is full has less swings and less open air to humidify.

http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/c...Humidity+Beads

1. Buy beads (2 tubes, one for each side)
2. Place beads in humidor following instructions
3. Enjoy cigars

I have 2lbs in my Vino and have not moved from 65% in months...

I'm not sure I'd buy anything from that site. Check out the cabinet humis.
"Only" $3500 for a glorified vino.

I know as a new guy to the hobby a 100 count seems large but in reality, it's not. You don't need any kind of fan in there. Humidity will always be a little higher in the area the humidifier is in. The best place for it is in the bottom center of the humidor as humidity rises. I'm guessing it's in the lid of the humidor right now. That's the worst place for it.

The beads from heartfelt are pretty reliable, especially for small humidors. I used to use a small disk and a small tube (both at 65%) for a 100-ct. and it maintained the rh pretty well on both upper and lower trays. Just my $.02....

My thoughts are the same as some of the others, you don't need a fan, just more cigars!

100 count is nearly big enough to have problems with different humidity in different areas. If you put in any system you are going to take up half of the small box with a fan. And I would never buy a system that costs $300+ for anything less than a cabinet

You can never have too many cigars, they are like an investment in good times.
