Default Do You Juice your own? Any good Ideas?

Hi,
I'm just wondering how many of you do it on a regular basis.

#1 I always hated veggies since I can remember. I just can't stand it. Two weeks ago I saw this Jack Lalanne Juicer at Costco's for $89.99 so I was thinking to my self. I'm wonderng if I could ever get my self to make a veggtable/fruit juice that I would acctually like and drink. after all I'm getting older and I need to find heatlther things to put in my body before I get sick. So I went home and googled, jack lanlane juice recepies, home made jucice, veggtable juice, etc.. juice diets all about drinking juice.

I got all hyped up and went back and got the machine. I have to tell you, and this is the truth, I drank more veggies in that first one day then I ate in months or years with just two cups. I put a few stalks of celery, carrors, a cucumber, and an apple and a pice of lemon. I think it was the apple that sweetened it up. But it dosnt matter. It was very good, Now I try to make my self a drink like that almost every morning, and add different things to the mix. Kiwi, oranges, fresh ginger, mango, lemons, plus the celery and cucumber.

Boy would my mother of been proud of me.

Peeled apples taste way better, to me anyway. I always juice celery and pineapple last because it clogs up my JLL badly. Oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, anything citrus is just easier the old fashioned way IMO. You can juice Kiwi peel and all if you scrub the little fuzzies off, or not if you don't mind fuzzies floating in your juice. If it gets hard to press down it's probably clogged and if you keep pressing it will stall. Frozen fruits still taste like frozen fruits even after you juice them.

Things that don't seem like they go well together probably won't, and you can end up with some really nasty tasting juice, I tried strawberry and turnip once, blech. I highly recommend getting some fresh herbs and putting those in, mint, oregano, thyme, cilantro, parsley, rosemary, all are delicious especially with more savory juices. Tomato, Celery, Cilantro, and spinach, with a pinch of salt, makes a delicious savory juice.

Carrots are a delicious and pretty cheap base for sweet juices.

That's all i got, I got bored with juicing but for a while I just filled my fridge with fruits and veggies and had juice and fruit every day, pretty good but it gets expensive.

I'm a bachelor, so have been juicing my own for quite a while. As for good ideas, all I can suggest it that you use some lotion.

Carrots are what make it sweet, everything else adds tartness or other flavors.

My family has had a Champion juicer for 30+ years and I have my own at home. A few guidelines:

- Don't go over 50% green veggies
- Carrots have a lot of sugar and keep that in mind
- Don't go over 1/2 of a beet or use a smaller beet. They are so powerful, too much can give you hives or temporarily paralyze vocal chords (but oh so tasty!)
- Use the pulp to make muffins, especially with carrot pulp; if you have a food dehydrator, they can make great chips with touch of agave and spices.
- Easier to digest when veggies are room temperature (I prefer them cold)
- Drink juice within 3 minutes of juicing, the nutrients breakdown wickedly fast
- Don't juice fresh garlic

I juiced for a few months, but after a while, I just couldn't take it anymore. IMHO, the amount of work it took to juice enough for a couple of glasses, plus the cleaning of the juicer just made it totally not worth it for me....

Kellie bought a Jack LaLane Professional Power Juicer a few months ago and loves it. The "pulp" after making juice looks disgusting.

Well, you'll be on the toilet within in a hour of consuming one of the muffins. Cross off any future colon problems if you are regularly eating pulp based muffins...

I imagine there are a ton of health benefits to consuming those muffins. I was making a joke at Jack LaLane's extremely bushy eyebrows.
