Default Gurkha hatin

Ok
. I've seen it here from a few. A lot of Gurkha hate. Personally I don't get it. I do, however, want to know why. I won't try to convince anyone or tell them their opinion is wrong. Just want to know why you don't like the whole brand. What you tried etc.

Or conversely what you like if you're a Gurkha ho like me.

Me. I like a med to full flavor smoke. I like that many Gurkha cigars are very unique and not just another same old same old smoke. They are typically very rich in their flavors and usually go very well through the nose (snork). I've tried basically all sizes of.

Grand reserve natural and maduro

Grand age

Master select natural and maduro

Estate selection vintage shaggy

Doble maduro

Centurian XX

Royal brigade

Royal salute

Anniversary natural and maduro

Triple ligureo

Black dragon and dragonfire

Blue steel

Probably more I can't think of

Great topic! Ever since I have joined the cigar forums this has been a common trend among them and I have been wondering this very question myself. As far as Gurkhas go i will stay neutral as I have had some I enjoy and some not so much.

I have smoked many Gurkhas as I became a "serious" cigar smoker. I think some taste like dirt, and some taste worse. So that is my "why".

I have had a few, although certainly not all of their lines, and I have enjoyed a few, and some, not so much (like the shaggy ). However, If I like it, I'll smoke it. to each their own. If I like and no one else does, then all the more for me.

That about made me fall out of my chair... Nice one Peter...

I have tried enough of them to know which ones I like and which ones I don't... and like I said in the other gurkha thread, at least they are better than the Rocky patel garbage...

I have tried several

Have to say they were from unimpressed to truly not good.

I had a shaggy footed one once, reminded me of vacuum cleaner bags, toe jam, freeze dried vomit and belly button lint.

Rule number 1. Smoke what you like.

From a former smoker of Gurkha:
As to the sticks. I used to like and smoke more of them. Some people begin to find them not very interesting over time. Then factoring in the prices it makes them a tougher stick to buy. There are still a few I would smoke, but not pay the price for. If you look at the options out there such as illusione, or pepin or padilla or oliva, many of us have a hard time paying the price for the few sticks that are mildly entertaining. Kind of similar to the Rocky Patel situation.

As asking this question on this board is bad idea. First of all this board is populated Habanos Heads to a large extent. Second of the rest of the smokers many have been smoking a long time. These are 2 groups of people who are not going to be in the Gurkha camp.

I think I've had 1 good Gurkha. What bothers me about that line is that you've got a ton of blends that seemingly go nowhere. Rocky Partel, which does something smilair, at least has some decent cigars.
