Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Looks like most of the participants of our FH League have found their way over to the Asylum.
We can use this thread to communicate, trash, talk, ask questions, etc... Same stakes as last year....everyone sends 2 Premium cigars to the winner, and one to second place. Chime in if you are in the league, and have joined the Asylum...I know I have seen many of you here.

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Bout time you guys let me know where you all were! I obviously work too much and missed a $hitload of what has gone on in the last few weeks.
You know how I found out? I went to go buy a new iPod (after 4 years on my old one) for all of my business traveling. I uploaded the DogWatch podcast which I haven't listened to in 2 years and they started talking about it on there. I was like WTF???? Then, I was lost. And then Tom found me! HAHAHAHAHA |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Not enough goalies
We need to change the rules so we start getting stats for warmups. Then my goalies would start putting up numbers |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
I DON"T KNOW HOW TO DO IT!!
Sorry. I really have no idea what I'm doing and how it all works. Tom has tried to help but I think this is just one of those things I can't seem to grasp. I need to hire a manager and I can be an owner. That way I do nothing but ***** about the results. UGGGG! |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Sorry, Allen! Didn't realize that. If only there were some goalies available. You're doing OK with your forwards and D but it seems EVERYONE (except Tom and, amazingly enough, the other MIA manager) is having troubles getting goalie games. With the size of this league and with so many bench spots, it is practically impossible to get enough goalies. Maybe something worth reconsidering for next season.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post it here. |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
I'm just happy Lundqvist finally got his first shutout the other night, and second last night!
He led the league with ten last year, and it took him half a season to get one this year. Damn defense.

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Man, I'm still getting used to this rotisserie scoring. I had one of my best nights in a while and I still lost points. I know how it works but it is still strange.
Darn you Prefy!!! Stay away!!! |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
Well seems I couldn't get to sleep tonight as I'm hacking like crazy(coming down with a cold) so I decided that I would crunch some numbers to how much of a difference there would be if our pool used the S% stat instead of the GAA stat. Personally I think S% is a more reliable stat when trying to measure individual goalie performance like we are doing in this pool.
Here's what I cam up with: Take what you want from these stats but I thought it was interesting to see some significant point differences between the two stat. Hopefully my data entry skills are O.K. and I inputted the data properly but keep in mind its 4:35 in the morning. |

Re: Fantasy Hockey 08-09
With only one day left, it looks like we have our winners!!
Congrats to Brett (romwarrior) for winning the 2008-2009 CA Fantasy Hockey!! Congrats to Dave (Bigwaved) for second place!! As per the initial post, please send (at least) 2 nice cigars to Brett, and (at least) 1 nice cigar to Dave.... Brett and Dave, I will also send an e-mail out through YahooFantasy. Please PM Brett and Dave for their addys, and please post DC numbers in the thread by April 26th. In 3 previous years of running fantasy hockey, we have only had 3 players not honor their commitment, hoping that number stays the same after this year. Thank you all for playing, and you 15 will all be the first 15 invited to play again next season. I had a blast, I hope you did too. There has also been talk of doing a cigar pool for the playoffs. 16 teams, 16 players, Basically, everyone who is interested would commit a 5'er of good cigars. We would then put all 16 teams in a hat, and pull them out, randomly assigning each player a team. We could do something like 10 5'ers for the Stanley Cup Champion, and 6 5'ers for the runner up? PM me if you want in on this, you 15 will get first crack before I open it up to others. Thanks again, and Let's Go Hawks!
