What am I in for?
just ordered 4 new to me blends after asking some buddies for ideas. this is what i have coming (from SMs).
Anyone had any of these blends before? i read the reviews, they sound great, but my roasting abilities are on the lower end of the talent spectrum. Panama Boquete Lerida Estate Peaberry -1 lb Sumatra Lake Toba 19+ Extra Bold -1 lb Costa Rica La Candelilla Tarrazu "Miel" -1 lb Guatemala Oriente Dry-Process -1 lb

Re: What am I in for?
Panama Boquete is a nice bean -- light but tasty. I haven't tried the CR Tarrazu Miel, but I've been roasting the CR Puente Miel -- fantastic stuff.
It sounds like you're on the right path, pardner. Just one little correction though --- these aren't blends. They're single origin coffees. You will like them.

Re: What am I in for?
thanks for the correction on the jargon.
i had some El Mayimbe, Columbia La Palma COE '07, Ethiopian Sidamo Koratie, Misty Valley... using a FR8. still a newb for the most part. most of these beans were suggestions from friends who have either made me a cup of coffee, sent me bags of beans, or gave me the working section of their FR8 (mine wasn't working).

Re: What am I in for?
finally got my beans in yesterday and did a couple batches of two of the four. i also got a small press-pot from my wife for V-day (a 12oz). had some of the peaberry today. very intense flavor, still smooth, gonna rest it a couple more days - first flavor i got was cinnamon, which quickly vanished.
can't wait to try the other one i roasted, the Sumatra. some photos from yesterdays roasting. Panama Peaberry (taken to vanguard of 2nd crack) Sumatra Lake Toba (taken to finish of rolling 2nd crack) feel free to use any of these photos for whatever...
