Default 2011 NFL Draft.

Anyone got anything? This year is SO up in the air about it ALL, with the lockout, and no clear #1 (plus, Carolina saying they'll take one of 4 players).

I can't even begin to think about who the Vikes will take. They have several glaring weaknesses to address. QB, LT, DL, WR, DB Obviously, the crapshoot that occurs before them will have a huge bearing on who they'll take, and what need will be able to be filled best.

Atlanta is supposedly trying to trade up so they can get into position (currently 27th) to pick up A.J. Green or Julio Jones...thats the only rumor I've heard

Default Re: 2011 NFL Draft.

My guess, because of no free-agency or college free agents allowing to get signed, there will be a lot of movement in the first three round as teams to fill needs with the draft. Probably going to see 7 or 8 QB's taken in the first two rounds by teams that need them, because no one knows where the free-agent QB's will land when all is said and done. Lots of trade-bait players, but none of them can move with no CBA either.

I'm most interested to see if Newton goes #1 and see if he ends up like Russell, Palmer or Manning. I think he ends up like Russell. How bad is it for Clausen that the Panthers are likely taking a 1st round QB one year removed from him?

It will be interesting to see who the Bengals take. The moronic Mike Brown has always f'ed up the draft somehow. See: Peter Warrick, Akili Smith, entire '05 draft, Ki-Jana Carter, Andre Smith, etc.

They have one player left from that Draft. Three had career ending injuries, one is no longer living, one played last season for a different team and they still have Fanene. Only one was a complete moron and couldn't hack it in the NFL. It actually could have been a good draft class, not all flame outs like other classes. The Bengals, in general though, have very bad draft classes. Particularly their first three rounds of picks.

I definitely wish you wouldn't have had injuries. I am pretty darn sure you would still be our starting LT. We wouldn't have wasted a pick on Andre.

Yeah, try the Millen Era: 31 wins 84 losses, .270 winning percentage in seven-plus seasons

Lions' first-round picks under Matt Millen:
2008 OT Gosder Cherilus Boston College (starts now, but injured)
2007 WR Calvin Johnson Georgia Tech six touchdowns in 13 career starts
2006 LB Ernie Sims Florida State 1.5 sacks in 35 career starts (now in Philly)
2005 WR Mike Williams* Southern California two touchdowns in six starts for Lions
2004 WR Roy Williams Texas 29 touchdowns in 54 career starts, Pro Bowl in 2006
2004 RB Kevin Jones* Virginia Tech 27 touchdowns in 49 starts for Lions
2003 WR Charles Rogers* Michigan State four touchdowns in nine career starts
2002 QB Joey Harrington* Oregon 62 interceptions in 55 starts for Lions
2001 OT Jeff Backus Michigan started all 115 games of the Matt Millen era

Surprisingly, his 2nd and 3rd round picks are much worse.

I think for the most part that the Lions have drafted guys many people considered to be solid NFL picks at the time, whereas the Raiders and Bengals had a few more head scratchers. But yeah, Detroit has been less than blessed in their drafting. Their WR's are talented, but hard to accomplish much when they don't get the ball.

I'm a Pats fan and every year I see Them trade down. I hope this year they trade up but I doubt it. If they stand pat I wouldn't mind seeing them get Ingram and 2 de/lb with their first 3 picks. But I'm sure Bill will trade 1 of the picks for next years....

Matt Millen was a moron, whomever decided to give an announcer the opportunity to be a GM is definitely kicking themselves now.

Calvin Johnson was the man last year.

Calvin is a stud. If we can keep Stafford healthy, those two could really light it up.

Probably true. Mostly because Al Davis and Mike Brown are the two worst owners in the NFL and have no football knowledge, are senile and only care about their pocket books.

Every year I have hope for the Bills, and every year they keep showing why they are irrelevant in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go Long Snapper at #3 tonight

Just shoot me now, Wade. LOL As I've said on that other forum, that experiment was a failure simply because there was no ring to show for it. And to top it off, they never groomed a young QB to take the reigns when he was done. Ugh!

Newton goes #1 to Carolina, and Locker goes to TN at 8. Albert, enjoy the amazing offense you'll have next year, with drafting Jones to go with the WR core you already have.
