O Holy Night by far. If it's sung by someone with some pipes, it's a beautiful and moving song.
I do enjoy White Christmas by The Drifters. Video of the old guys singing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgGcrvApljY

Re: Favorite Christmas Songs
Also, just thought of it. Back in the mid-to-late 70s, Emmylou Harris had a Christmas song called, "Light of the Stable." Every Christmas my parents would play it on their phonograph. Haven't heard the song in ages, but it's one of the more prominent Christmas memories from my childhood.

Plus one. And Christmas Time is Here =Vince Guaraldi Trio instrumental. This is the song I like to have playing on Christmas Eve after I have stuffed myself and settle down with some scotch and one of my very best smokes.

The coffee cart in my lobby (I'm a lobby guard) plays Christmas music all day long. I swear, if this lasts too much longer, I'm gonna hafta eat a bullet.

I'm an old sentimental slob ...
My all time favorite ... only one version matters ... Nat King Cole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOszvL9lgSs A close second. So many good versions of this one ... Frank, Bing, Rosemary ... Luthur Vandross ... Coldplay, Kenny G (the video of that one really gets to me), Katie Melua does a nice version ... even Michael Buble. Guess I gotta go with the original Judy Garland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSeHMjQEz3E |

Re: Favorite Christmas Songs
Love this! 100% agreed.
When I was in college, I worked a temp job doing quality control for a mail order delivery company. I spent 5-10 hour shifts listening to Christmas music boxes. The music box played O' Tannenbaum. To this day, I cringe when I hear this song, especially if it's an instrumental. I refuse to buy any album with this song on it.
