Humidifier mold...
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone on here could help me with black mold that keeps growing on my set and forget humidifier wicks. I have a large Aristocrat cabinet, and although the humidity remains at a perfect 67%, the wicks keep getting this mold growth. I was wondering if I could remove the wicks, and fill the reservoirs of the units with beads instead of water? Thank you in advance.

Re: Humidifier mold...
I've always dumped a capful of this in each tank when refilling with distilled:

Re: Humidifier mold...
I had that problem once, got a new jug of distilled water and washed out my S&F cans with some Everclear, replaced the wicks.....no problems since.
What happened to me was that I got some "bad" distilled water and once the wicks / cans are "contaminated", you'll keep having problems until you can make a clean start. Worked for me - YMMV....B.B.S.
