Minecraft
Any Minecraft players out there?
Use this thread to post pictures of your builds!!! A couple friends and I have a server, if any CA members want to join shoot me a PM. This game is very addicting, a bit nerdy but I can look past that. I love architecture and enjoy trying to build things. Here are a few older pics from recent maps we had:

Re: Minecraft
Yes, I give it a 6 out of 10 in the fun department but it has something special about it that keeps you wanting more. The low res graphics just work for the game play. My favorite part is just building things but there is much more you can do.
It's kind of like advanced legos meet RPG. I don't like RPGs but I love this game.

Best way to describe it is a free play low res addicting game! Look at some videos online, to get a little feel for it. If you take the plunge PM me and I will get you onto my MP survivor server I will even give you a diamond tool kit and some supplies to get started!

Re: Minecraft
There isn't really a predefined objective. It's very sandboxy. Playing locally doesn't require much of an internet connection (it "phones home" when you start up, but that seems to be it.)
However, in the last couple versions they started adding little rpg elements. There's XP now (so you can level, but it doesn't affect anything yet.) There are (currently empty) towns, mines and a couple fortresses kicking around. I think I read something about them introducing NPCs in 1.9 (which can't be too terribly far away.) Though now that Skyrim's out |

I love Minecraft (especially multiplayer) and since I dont have skyrim...LOL
All my builds were on a multiplayer server that hasn't been updated... and probably never will.

Re: Minecraft
OOOOO sheep town. I will try and get on this afternoon, I am leaving the office now. Interested to see if the internet down here is even fast enough to do this. Last time I ran a speed test I was running at a blazing 100kb/s. That is .1mb/s.
