Default Sad Day v. Very, very Sad Day

Pictures speak louder than words.

Sad Day:

Very, very Sad Day:

I will now retire to a drink to help console my loss.

You should mail it to the moon. This way you can't smoke the last one. Unless you smoked it already.

Only memories of that cigar remain.
He was a trooper indeed.
Hung in there as long as he could.
While evasive and persistent at its evasiveness, it ultimately lost and burned.

Ouch-curious...

how long would it take the "average" infestation to do that much damage? Makes me wonder if anyone has a standard practice of inspecting all of their stuff on a periodic basis.

Define average.

I would say 10 beetles could do that much damage in a matter of 2 months. Less time if the temp is high.

See, I have no idea of what an average outbreak is, whether it's a single beetle, dozens, or what. That's why I'm curious just what a single beetle might be capable of doing alone, so you might put some sort of periodic inspection on the table.

When I saw the top of the Padron lid while scrolling down at first I was like "Oh god no not again." and that damn pic made it into the thread anyway now giving me the chills. I hate the image. Makes me paranoid for at least 2 weeks after viewing it.
