Favourite Low-Mid Price Maduro
Hey everyone,
As I have gotten back into smoking and started adding to my little stash I have not gotten many maduro-wrapped cigars. I smoked a Maroma Maduro (cheapie) and surprispingly enjoyed its mild, slightly chocolatey, dark earthy flavour. It was too wet, but still pretty enjoyable. I am wondering what your favourite low-mid priced maduro cigars are - both mild-medium and full-bodied cigars. I know some will mention the Sancho Panza Maddies, which I haven't had for years (are the new ones still smoking well?), but what else is out there? I'd like to add a few to my humi. T

Well since our resident maduro whore Mac is sleeping, I'll step in. I love 601 Blues and they can be had for around $4-5 per stick. Cigarmonster has fivers of them all the time for 17.98 shipped. DPG JJ maduro's can be had for around $6-7 apiece. They are very tasty also.

Oh yeah, and Diesel Unholy Cocktails are great budget smokes. They can be had for around 15 a fiver or $99 for a box of 30.Padron 2000 & 3000 maduro's are also great smokes and can be had pretty cheap if you keep your eye out for them.

Re: Favourite Low-Mid Price Maduro
Hello everyone, I'm a first timer here. Though I generally prefer oscuro cigars to maduro if I'm looking for a dark smoke (and have the time to sit down for a while), Casa de Garcia does make a nice value maduro, especially if you give them a bit of time to get juicy. I have a few that I'm giving away on my review blog, cigarsoup.com. Check the link for details and photos:
http://www.cigarsoup.com/2012/04/giv...churchill.html I'll have a review published for that cigar soon. Be sure to check out the other reviews available as well. Thanks, and nice to meet you all! |

Top of my list, depending on definition of 'cheap', would probably be RP Cuban Blend at $3/per (auctioneer price, anyway.) |

Dave, He's talking about the Original Tat El Triunfador Blend Which uses Pennsylvania Broadleaf (Grown in CT btw...) I believe the Cuba Libre One is a dark Habano, Oliva V is a Sungrown, and Nic3k is a Ecuadorian Habano if i'm not mistaken. The few Graycliff 1666's sucked when I had them so we agree on that. The El Credito is a cheroot, but there again its a dark Habano/Sumatra wrapper, definitely not a maduro! |

Thank you all for the suggestions, that's more than I expected
I'll have to fish around for a few of these. Anyone tried the Flor de Oliva maduros? I realized that I have a few 601 Blues, I'll have to smoke one of them after it sits a bit.

Re: Favourite Low-Mid Price Maduro
Friday I went to a cigar shop, and I guy was praising the store owner for selling him an Omar Ortez Maduro Torpedo.
I kind of laughed to myself because (uknowingly) i'd smoked the "Natural" at the same shop, and to me there was nothing special about it. Well let me tell you what... I grabbed the maduro yesterday, and it blew me away, there were rich dark chocolate flavors, cedar, and rich tobacco! It had a great black pepper spice, and even a slight bit of creme! I couldn't believe I was smoking a $5.00 stick! I still can't believe it! The only cigar that I smoked yesterday that was better was the Illusions MK Ultra! |
