Cooler weather here, broke out the peppermint schnapps and cocoa for a celebratory and inaugural firstPeppermint Patty of the season, in honor of the Asylum opening.

Re: What did you drink last night?
Ate dinner at my parents house last night - Plungerhead old vine zin, then Cooper-Garrod cab. It was a wine night... Nuthin' but water after I got home.
This is odd because I'm a beer drinker. |

Re: What did you drink last night?
I was excited to pick up some straight Rye from the store last night as well as some sweet vermouth and my go-to cheap bourbon (Benchmark).
I've been getting into Manhattans lately, and saw that Rye is the way to go rather than bourbon. Sure enough - delicious! Not sure if it's "correct" or not, but I found I still prefer the dry vermouth over sweet. Perhaps I'm refining my recipe - 3oz Rye, .5oz dry vermouth, two splashes of bitters. |
