Question How Important is Temperature

I went out to the garage to have a smoke last night and when I opened the cooler the Temperature inside it was 58, the Humidity was still 70%. I know if the temp gets too high you can have a problem with Beatles is there any problem with the temp being too low?

Default Re: How Important is Temperature

There are a number of guys here who can explain the science of low temps a helluva lot better than I can, but I know from personal experience 58 degrees is not "bad" for cigars. However, if you routinely store your sticks in cooler conditions, you may want to give them some time warm up a few degrees before smoking them.

And if you store your cigars in cold conditions (or freeze them as I do to kill any beetle eggs), you definitely want to bring the temp back up SLOWLY to avoid damaging the cigar wrapper. There's a great sticky on the science behind freezing HERE
