Casa de Torres Edicion Especial Robusto
Casa de Torres is a Nicaraguan made, German-owned cigar brand. Little over twenty years ago, the German cigar producer Schuster, created the brand. It is now available in a few European countries. In 2006, the Casa de Torres line up saw the birth of the Casa de Torres Edicion Especial. The cigar is made with Nicaraguan filler and binder. The wrapper comes from Costa Rica. The cigars are made in an undisclosed factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
Last year, the brand attracted some international attention with the 20 años Aniversario because that cigar was blended by Esteban Disla. Philip Schuster knew Esteban from his days at La Aurora, and now Disla is the main blender at RoMa Crafts Nice Sueño factory Schuster asked him to blend the limited edition. That wasn’t a far fetched question since Schuster Cigars is the official international distributor for RoMa Craft. This limited edition is the only Casa de Torres made at Nica Sueño, according to Schuster Cigars. Name: Casa de Torres Edicion Especial Country: Nicaragua Factory: Undisclosed Size: 5×50 Vitola: Robusto Wrapper: Costa Rica Binder: Nicaragua Filler: Nicaragua Price: € 5,10 Cutter: Xikar X2 Lighter: single flame Smoke conditions: indoors with ventilator Smoke time: one hour fifty minutes Sponsored by Schuster Cigars The Costa Rican wrapper looks good. A nice medium brown colour, no ugly veins and a nice cap. The ring is of good quality paper, the printing is high quality too, making it a clean ring yet the design is a bit old-school. The aroma of the Casa de Torres Edicion Especial is a reminder of a forest after a rainfall. The cold draw is flawless with a spicy tobacco flavour. After toasting and lighting the cigar, the flavours are spicy with grass and hay. After that the flavours turn to a mildly salty leather. Then sweetness shows up in the shape of icing sugar. The salty leather is replaced by cedar wood and a slowly growing pepper. The grass flavour returns too. The second third has a mixture of herbs, pepper, nuts, soil, spices, sweetness, and vanilla. Not all at the same time, but in a slowly changing and evolving matter. The final third is leather with a little cedar wood, spice, pepper, sweetness and just a tiny bit of salt. The last few puffs are all about pepper and wood. Construction-wise this cigar is fantastic. A close to perfect draw, thick smoke, beautiful and strong ash. There is enough evolution in the flavors of this medium-bodied, medium-full flavored cigar. And all that for just €5,10. The smoke time is one hour and fifty minutes. Strenght: medium Flavor: medium-full For the final score with a scientific diagram, a video and pictures, go to: https://ministryofcigars.com/casa-de...obusto-review/
