601 black label: thoughts?
I've tried the red and green labels and for a while the reds were my favorite everyday smoke. Now I find them to be just a little stronger than I would prefer and since the weekend is coming up I thought I might pop into the local shop and pick up something new. Anybody like these?

Re: 601 black label: thoughts?
I have tried both the red and the black for the first time in the last few days. My vote definately goes for the red..however they both are extremely good. I would like to officially say I ama big fan of the line, and I will probably smoke throught the rest of them over the next couple days

I like them all but lately have been becoming a big fan of the Maduro BP (Blue).
I also find myself grabbing the black, so I say smoke them all Chas |

I like them all except for the Black. I find it to be full of spice but little flavor. YMMV. I find the the Red to have a great pleasant medium body woody flavor that's just very enjoyable. And the green has some nice punch to it. The Blue isn't bad, but I prefer the other two colors.

Re: 601 black label: thoughts?
the 601 black was the first nc I fell in love with. Don Pepin blends some killer cigars. I'm a huge fan of the Habano robito (red label lonsdale) as well. I think his son Jaime did something special with the My Father. I think the robusto is the best size in the 601 black.

Re: 601 black label: thoughts?
the 601 blue and greens are unreal, especially in their robusto formats as well. I've never had the connecticut as most connecticuts turn me off, but knowing the other 601's I'm sure its awesome.

well, I couldn't help it. I smoked the DPG instead. It was delicious as expected but stung my nose a little bit. I had a few beers before during and after so I'm having trouble remembering specific flavors. The 601 will have to wait for another day.

Re: 601 black label: thoughts?
thanks guys, I picked up a torpedo and a DPG cuban classic perfecto. As I said I've smoked plenty of the red labels so I'll report back after I've torched this one to see who's the winner.

Re: 601 black label: thoughts?
Great combo....I think there is a slight family resemblance between the two. Yes, I too like the 601 black alot and the DPG cuban classic is one of my favorite sticks. The only bad thing I can say about it is that the wrapper has a tendency to fracture for me. Bought a box of the cuban classic belicosos so I know 'em pretty well.
