Default Cigar Hygrometer Question

Hi all!

I just have a quick question. I bought a new humidor which comes with a front mounted, analog hygrometer. Unfortunately, my nephew was playing with the spring at the back and it broke, so I am looking to find a replacement.

The problem, however, is that I can't seem to find one at all. According to the best of my measurement, the hygrometer is 1 3/8" in diameter, and the hole in the humidor is slightly less than 1 3/8".

Has anyone seen a hygrometer this size? The ones I found online are all 1 3/4", and I don't think that would fit...

By the way, this is my humidor:

Thank you very much!
John

Your nephew might have done you a favor. Put it back in, even broken, and get a digital. I have learned not to trust analog hygros. I've seen some that are stuck on 70%.

But I bought a humidor with a front-mounted hygrometer so I can see everything from outside!

I use a Credo and find it is extreamly accurate. It does not need calibration either.

I have a cabinet with an analog hygro mounted on the front, and it has never moved, always at 65%, even when it was empty and completly dry. I just put a digital on the inside and problem solved.

It would be cool if you could get the needle to stick on 70 though!

I've seen them as well, but I'm pretty sure the OP's humidor relies on the hygro being a certain size to plug the hole to the front of the humidor.

When buying a hygrometer, make sure it can be calibrated.

I'm thinking that you need to get the needle to point to 70, then fill the whole thing up with super glue gel.

Then you would never need to refill your humidifiers!
