Still Watching My Back

My day
The weather was nice here, so I decided to burn some brush piles to clean up a couple of our pastures. Of course, where there is smoke, there has to be a cigar . Had myself a Taboo twist, and it was really good. Not a bad ash for tramping around out in the snow.
one of the piles I decided that it would be a waste of a fire if it was not used, so I also roasted up some sausages for lunch (too busy eating them to get photos) Good day, yes it was.

Re: My day
Perogee, where you located along the Kaninaskis Trail? That almost looks like it might be near the hostel/ribbon creek area....I love that area. Almost fell off the chains (with full expedition sized backpack on) leading down the one cliff along the ribbon creek trail a couple of years ago. Once again, I love that area. I have always considered doing a through hike starting near ribbon creek, heading west, into the Mt Assinniboine park region, coming out into Sunshine, crossing over to Healy, Egypt Lake, Storm Mt, then crossing 93 to jump into boom lake and finally come out around Lake Louise.....you want to come along?
Probably not in the near future....got to get bills paid before I can take that much time off (thats probably a 2 week hike for sure). Cheers Cyanide |

Re: My day
I am right across the valley from Ribbon creek, just north of the golf course.
It is the shoulder of Old Baldy, and part of MacGreggor (sp?) in the background (looking north). And getting two weeks off during good hiking season is near impossible for me , but it sounds like a great run

Re: My day
Great picture of the mountains. I like the drastic difference you have from the near mountain being nice and green and inviting to the distant rocky snow covered mountain.
