Default newb to buying boxes

I have been smoking cigars for a while however I have only gotten them in singles or 5-10 packs. I just recieved an order from the devil site (a box of Rocky Patel Fusions Robusto) after taking the shrink wrap off the outside there was and still is a strong plastic/paint smell I took the sticks out so i could put them in the humi as the box was stinking up my overflow tupperdor. has anyone else had any issues like this? what should I do?

thanks

Those Rockey Patel boxes have a heavy lacquer on them...I don't use them in the cooler. Put the sticks in a ziplock and leave it open or put them in a different box that is plain spanish cedar.

ok thanks, hopefully the smell will go away so I can put them back in the original box maybe I can put it in a bag with some baking soda in it for a week or so (cigars out of course) I just like the idea of storing them in their correct box (just a mental thing I guess)
