Corona Nicaraguan 20th Anniversary FSG Cigars - Double Corona
https://www.coronacigar.com/cigar-br...niversary-FSG/
So, I first became a fan of this series when I ordered the robusto's and reviewed one. This monstrosity was an accident because i normally AVOID larger cigars. I do not usually like marathon session smokes but after smoking 2 of these so far I feel like i have a handle on the brand and felt this size deserved it's own review. I've been becoming a fan of the FSG that i've had so far because of how close to cubans they can taste at times. So, let's see how this double corona measures up to the robusto's i've had! Wrapper: A beautiful milk chocolate wrapper with few flaws, Minimal veins with a triple cap Draw: Perfect Milkshake draw caramel, coffee, earthiness, honey, creamy finish, very cubanesque flavors coming in, it has a creamy, honey finish with an earthy undertone, cocoa, white pepper, leather, So, far all the flavors are kind of mellow, slightly mineral flavors, Some spiciness now starting towards the end of the first 1/3rd, Ash fell just before the picture Finish is creamy and chewy, honey, spice, caramel, hints of vanilla, cocoa, almonds, earthiness, becoming less mellow into a more mild-medium cigar, white pepper, Tongue is starting to buzz a little, earthiness, caramel, cocoa, honey, spiciness, pepper, nice creamy, chewy finish, vanilla, graham crackers, Cigar has developed into a medium body cigar, Ash/Burn: Ash was white, tight and compact. very little shedding. Burn was fairly even requiring only a couple touch ups Final Thoughts: This cigars brings to memory a Partagas Lusitania in size and flavor maybe just a bit more mellow. I still do not like marathon cigars like this but if you have to smoke a larger cigar it might as well be a pretty good one. This cigar started sort of mellow but built in spiciness and pepper as it went along. I love when cigars build up like this so i really liked this cigar. It's also a well constructed and beautiful cigar. I would highly recommend anyone try these. These are also the cheaper the FSG offerings which is also pretty nice. Halfwheel just gave drew estates 20 acre farm a 91 so FSG is coming into its own now. My next hope for FSG tobacco is an all florida puro and I've been emailing corona cigars to put one together. I'd be curious to see how an all Florida puro measures up to cuban tobacco. Based on this cigar I think they'd be pretty close in flavors or at least i hope so. So, all that aside i would recommend anyone buy a 5 pack or a box of these blind they are THAT good. Maybe pick a different size though. I hope you enjoyed my review today and have a blessed day! God bless you all!
