Default ICC Cricket World Cup

I know most of you wouldn't really follow this one. The India-Pakistan game had over a billion viewers. So yep, it's popular alright!

The "one day format" is likely more palatable for North Americans.

So far - upset of the tournament is Ireland beating the W Indies with ease.

My favourite moment so far is this catch:

The Simplified Rules of Cricket.
1. There are two teams. One out, one in.

2. The team that's out try to get the player that's in, out.

3. When they do get him out, he goes in.

4. Then the next player goes out. As long as he's out, he's in.

5. The object is then for the team that's out to get the second player out. When they get him out, he goes in.

6. This process is repeated for each innings until the team that's out gets the team that's in all out.

7. When the whole team is out, the team that was in goes out, and the team that was out goes in.

8. Then they play a second innings until they're all out. Except one player. He remains not out.

.....WHAT'S SO DIFFICULT ABOUT THAT ???

Well, now that you explained it, I'm out (until I'm in)

Back in '95 my radar system got sent to one of the airbases in England. We'd gotten everything set up way ahead of schedule so we all headed back to our lodging with a bunch of beer and some steaks to grill. We had a choice of two things on TV to watch, Cricket or Snooker. So we spent the next couple of hours drinking copious quantities of beer and figuring out the rules of Cricket. It was actually pretty fun and entertaining, and we got to see the bowler bowl a Hat Trick, which from what the announcers said is pretty rare.

And that's my cricket story.

Humble Kiwis take down the favoured Australians and SA whips the West Indies.
Have a look at the SA - West Indies game highlights. Highly entertaining.

I wish I understood this game better. When I was on my honeymoon last fall in St. Lucia it was on tv all day. I thought it was really entertaining.

SA knock out Sri Lanka in the first quarter final.
Dale Steyn's reaction to taking out the worlds greatest batman (Sangakarra) is priceless:

He looks like he might blow an aneurysm or pass a large concrete block!
(Maybe the same look as the first time you tasted a Gurkha!)
