Feeling at Home

Senorial Corona Gorda
Senorial Corona Gorda:
I paired this cigar with some black coffee and water. Cigar appears to be very well constructed and feels solid in the hand. The wrapper is nice and shiny with very minimal veins. Pre light draw gave me a little bit of pepper with some wooden flavors. Upon lighting the cigar starts out with nice woodsy and earthy flavors that are backed by a very light sweet flavor. There is a blast of pepper that hits you but then it evens out and I think it complements the other flavors nicely. At this point I’m also noticing that I really enjoy the finish on this cigar. The flavor stays with you for a while and it’s all goodness. Middle third has much of the same wood and earthy flavors but they are very balanced at this point. There is a nice touch of vanilla sweetness on the finish too. I’m reminded of old school short bread cookies (like Lorna Doones). The final third was more strong earthy flavors backed an almost cinnamon like sweetness on the finish. Overall the cigar smoked very well with an even burn all the way to the end. I liked this cigar and think it fits well as a morning cigar with coffee or an afternoon cigar with tea or beer. I enjoy strong cigars, so I thought this was a good medium bodied cigar. I would not want to smoke this after having already smoked something like a ligero heavy cigar. I recommend giving this a try if you enjoy a good Habano. |
