Feeling at Home

Re: La Perla Habana
I have tried a couple of the La Perla Habana “Black Pearl” and did find them to be a peppery and spicy smoke, but not overpowering. The Black Pearl has a maduro wrapper that balances out the cigar nicely.
I remember thinking it was pretty good for a cheap smoke, but at a similar price point I like Nica Libres better. |

Re: La Perla Habana
If you can let them sit for a while the black pearl are pretty good. I had some I let sit for a year and really enjoyed them. I've hear the one that begins with an R...Rojo maybe or Rosado...at any rate I hear they are really good.

Re: La Perla Habana
I've smoked a lot of LPH. The Rojo and Morado are very tasty bargain smokes and IMNSHO give a lot of bang for the buck. I've not had the Maduro. The Original, Cobre, and Oro are decent. For a deal like this where they're <$2 a stick you really can't go wrong.

Re: La Perla Habana
Yes, these are much better with rest. Friend and I bought some a year ago and were not impressed. I tried on on a whim (after sorting my singles humidor) and was very satisfied with it.
