Decaf Sources -
Looks like Santa is bringing me a new grinder for Christmas -
Don't know which one as I gave her - umm I mean Santa - several choices. Since I'm only allowed decaf (medical deal) I need to lay in some good stock. I see that Unclebeanz has two decaf lines and I will order those - but who else carries a good variety of decaf? I don't roast so am not looking for green. Thanks, Ron |

Which grinders did you put on your wish list?

Re: Decaf Sources -
I am useless on decaf advice, Ron, except to say there are many very good ones out there. I've been served homeroast decaf that was as good as the best regular cups. It isn't the flavor sacrifice it used to be in the formerly all-Sanka/Postum world. Absent better advice from Unclebeanz, investigate the usual suspects who already provide highly regarded freshroast. Where you live I'd start by trying out Mayorga Coffee Roasters.
CCM - FL Intelligensia - IL CounterCulture - NC etc - etc If you get another medical deal that sez you have to 86 all your cigars, I'll drive up with a trailer. Merry Christmas, brother - glad you're still with us to worry about coffee quality. dmn

Ron,
I pass by Whole Foods every day and they roast every day and have a few decaf blends. I can pick you up some if you want, just lemme know. I'll bet Uncle will be here soon though offering better advice. Mr Moo, what is this CCM roaster in FL you speak of?

Re: Decaf Sources -
A low-ish price provider of of well prepared intermediate grade beans. I only buy their green but imagine they do a decent decaf. Or maybe not. WTH? It's Ron's money.

As a little more background: Grinder - I was using a KitchenAid model that most people complained about - but it served me well for over 10 years and I had it dialed it exactly where I like it. Last year it bit the dust and I have gone through a dozen or so cheap models that my wife and kids bought for me - but they all sucked. I've put off buying what I wanted since I knew Santa wanted to get me a decent one this year. Coffee beans. As luck would have it - after my hospital stay Tristan took it upon himself to send me roasted beans from Sweet Maria's. Then I bought them, shipped to his house and he would roast for me. Can't tell you how thankful and appreciative I am of him for doing that - but you know - he has a life, wife and so forth so I don't want him to have to keep on being my coffee ***** forever - LOL So, therein the quest for some suppliers with a variety of decafs so that I'm not just stuck with one or two. One of these years I may get into roasting - but not just yet. Ron |

Re: Decaf Sources -
We roast two decafs (Mirabal and Decaf Pepino) that have a loyal following. We also offer a low caf (Opus 1 Exotic) and a half caf (Media Luna).
Roasted on demand. If I remember right, you're the watch collector, right? |

Unfortunately I won't be trying the other two - this no caffeine thing is not by choice. Quote:
Do you plan on any other decafs in the future? Thanks, Ron |
