Wonder what prompted this "sudden" move? Maybe "future visions".

Re: Steve Saka retires from Drew Estate
Hmmm. Steve had similar complaints about being away from his family too much when he was with Lew at JRs. I know, as I had to sit a listen to him baitch and moan about it a several herfs. But on the plus side, he always brought a ton of great cigars to share.
Steve is truly one of the good guys, and has some of the best stories to tell I've ever heard. Best of luck to the Big Guy in the future, no matter what he does or where he goes.

Re: Steve Saka retires from Drew Estate
Yeah, never met him in person but he'd always make an effort to get online and when you happened to be at the right place at the right time you could talk to him there. All I can say from those few experiences of mine is he's a cool guy and some people would kiss his a- ..too hard, that was a good way to turn him off HaHa. So I'd say he's quite a humble guy. But he was in the engine room of the business so if you caught him on a good night if you listened you learned. Probably true after eight years of politics, drama, and biz travel to sit back out of the limelight and take a break.

It will be interesting to see what he does next. I'm sure he will bring success to his next endeavor. Perhaps he just wants a long vacation, couldn't blame him for wanting some downtime with his family.

Re: Steve Saka retires from Drew Estate
Steve is someone who I have followed my entire cigar life and someone who I would love to finally meet some day. I first started interacting with him on ASC back in 1997, immediately started going to his board Cigar Nexus (where I won my first cigar contest!) followed him to the old JR board, and tried DE cigars because of him (Which I was VERY reluctant to do because of the Acids). Maybe he can actually start making herfs again now that he's a "regular cigar guy" again!
Steve I wish you all the best Brother! |
