Re: Brazen
Ok, the final vertict is in, adjusted the heat a little, moved the ground up to a couple clicks finer. Roasted a batch of Coffee last night. And I am completely pleased with the Brazen. Thank you Behmor for another well thought out product.

Re: Brazen
Laura, thanks for the review. I hadn't heard of the Brazen. I'd been toying with the idea of a drip machine, if just for the convenience factor. I still love my FP, but the limited quantity and what to do with the grounds every time can start to become a PITA. Time to start saving my pennies.

Re: Brazen
Bob, it is a new machine that has just come out. I like the fact that I can control the temprature and the soak time. It makes a big diffrence in how the coffee tastes.

Re: Brazen
I have had the Brazen for a few weeks now and I am really liking it. There are brewers out there that can brew at the proper temp (195f-205f) but are either very expensive or just not what I wanted to spend my money on for various reasons. The Brazen allows the user to adjust the brew temp very easily as well as a presoak time which can be very important with fresh roasted coffee to help control the bloom. Darn good machine for $200 and Behmor has always had great customer service so I dont worry if there is a problem along the way since I know it will get fixed.

Re: Brazen
Bit the bullet and ordered this.
Reviews seemed to be mostly positive and my wife hates the looks of the Technivorm pots. Will share my thoughts after Xmas.

Made the first pot this morning.
More than a decent cup. Set up was a real breeze. Will have to play around with it a bit, since changing the settings couldn't be easier. So far, I am pleased.

Re: Brazen
If I have one complaint, after the first cup, the carafe doesn't keep the coffee hot enough.
I thought about raising the brew temp, but I kind of like it where it is. I've pre-heated the carafe with hot water, and found it doesn't make much of a difference. The only real solution I've come up with, is to drink my first cup faster!

I have an email in to Tech support. I don't know what the problem is, but the coffee is just way too cold. I'll update when I hear back from them.

The caraf is not supposed to go into a dishwasher because it can hurt the seal that joins the caraf together. If this seal fails the problem you are having sounds like the result, I am not saying you put it in the dishwasher. There have been a few reports just like this over at Coffee Geek and then they disappear from activity because Joe and his team take care of the problem, I don't think black vans show up at their houses but I can't really say . |
