Re: Does butane keep?
Keep it out of extreme hot or cold and out of direct sunlight and you should be alright. I've have the same couple cans for years.

I'm still using a can of Lava fuel that I've had at least 6+ years. Never had a lick of problems in any of my lighters over that time.

Re: Does butane keep?
Well, it is my 2nd can of it. Went through the first, probably half way through the second. Surprising how little it takes to fill up all my lighters and I burn a lot of cigars weekly.

Re: Does butane keep?
No reason why it shouldn't. That said, it is always possible for the valve to hang up, and stay open after you use it. I've never had a butane can do that to me, but I've had 1 lb propane bottles stick open several times.

I've been using a can of Blazer for about two years and another can of Lava for about 18months...as stated above, keep out of direct sunlight.

Re: Does butane keep?
Going to heat your house with it? Sorry. I'm guessing that you'll be able to answer your question better than anyone........in 15 years.....lol I think that I'm on my third can. Possibly fourth. I started smoking cigars in 2005 and average probably about 10+ per week. |

Re: Does butane keep?
I would imagine that the can could lose its seal eventually. Hell, I just went camping with the buddies last summer and we used a butane lamp with a can that must have been 10 years old. It was starting to rust a little bit so I would think that would be the biggest downfall, but if you're not storing it outside, dust would be the biggest factor probably.

Re: Does butane keep?
I've purchased a 5 pack of the Vector Quintuplus and used them slowly over the years. No problems yet.

Re: Does butane keep?
I just got a Black Ops double flame from CI with a purchase a month ago. I love it. It's got a pretty huge visible tank... I've been playing with it non stop and have lit a couple cigars and it's still over 3/4 full.
