New Coolidor!
My slide down the slope started pretty quick and my humidor is full, so I ordered some beads and bought a cooler today. Time to clean it and start the seasoning and see if it will last me awhile.

Tyler,
Coolidors don't "season". Clean it. Moisten your beads. Place in cooler along with cigars. Done.

Also throw some wooden boxes in or pieces of boxes to help regulate the RH. They will absorb the RH and keep things running smooth. I you are putting boxes in from the start then you will be good to go!

The slope is very slippery!!!

Re: New Coolidor!
Thanks for the advice guys! Alot easier than a humidor. I need to go out and pick up another digital hydrometer for it sometime this weekend. I've already have some boxes, but may pick up a couple more for singles.

NICE, Tyler! I don't know why you're starting small, you know if a few months that thing is going to be too small!
I'm going to wash mine out tomorrow. I'll have to do it outside, I'm not sure it'll even fit in the shower.

Have fun filling it bro! I started about 6 months ago with a bag of 20 cigars given to me for a discount on my golf clubs I sold this guy (I have zero cigars at all before this and only had some for occasion) ... from there I went to a 100ct humi, 2 weeks later a 8 bottle wineador with 2 trays and digital hygro, 1 month later a 28 bottle wineador full with 7 trays in the front 5 overflow trays in the back with 2 digital hygros 2 fans and full humidification ... and I'm now getting full in about 4 odd months! HOLY GEEZ Has this been one HELL of a slope! Good luck in not filling it up this year ... You might as well just give in know ... once you have space .... You CAN'T HELP but fill it! Wait till you start trading ... then it's all over from there for sure!!! YEP !!! Last edited by falconman515; 02-20-2012 at 12:02 AM. |

Re: New Coolidor!
I saw the 150 qt and I don't even know if it would fit in my car. Not sure the wife would like it either. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her why I was buying the small one.

I have a cover on the bed of my truck and it wouldn't close with the cooler in the back. It's a freaking beast. The wife asked where I was going to put it................I said the living room of course. So it'll be going in my closet once I redo it.
