Nub Dub (Double Maduro)
Nub Double Maduro. Being a big fan of the regular Maduro I couldn't resist snapping up a box of 10 on CI, especially since they said it's a limited release. Who knows if it's just a marketing ploy. I hope it is and that these will be around for good as it was quite an enjoyable experience. They've been sitting in the humi for a week adn I couldn't wait any longer, especially since the weather today was very good considering what it had been. First the bio: The Nub dub is the same blend as the regular Nub maduro. With the dub though they replaced the binder with a wrapper quality Brazilian maduro leaf. They come in a 4x60 package, just like te standard Nub maduro. Pre-light aroma was the same as the maduro. Upon lighting it a blast of soft pepper hits the mouth. This isn't present in all the regular nub maduro's I've sampled. It dies off significantly within the first 1/8 of an inch, but it lingers ever so slightly on the finish at the back of the throat. Here's where I amy throw some of you for a loop. The flavors are the same as the nub maduro...but they're also different. In the regular Nub maduro I get a pretty even mix of coffe/expresso, chocolate/mocha, and tobacco. None of the flavors really over take eachother. They are all there adn can be picked up. With the Nub Dub they are all there as well, but the expresso jumps out. And it's expresso. Not a coffee mix in with it. Overall the flavors in general were also more bold. The aroma was tad bit stronger too. But not much. It burned great, held good ash as you can see from the photos, and was just overall very solid. The regular nub maduro I'd put at a solid medium body. This is medium to full. A box of 10 cost me $75, so $7.50 a stick. Right now CI is throwing in a nub 6 stick sampler for a buck more. So about $5 each. Even without the sampler, I'd pay 7 and change for these. If you like the Nub Maduro, I don't think you'll be dissapointed with The Nub Dub.

Re: Nub Dub (Double Maduro)
Confession time ... never smoked a NUB in my life! The urge is present but I never find myself purchasing them, what's up with that?! Don't know, but you made me want to purchase some. It is a beautifully rolled cigar, just like any NUB really.
I frequent the dutch cigar forum Sigarenliefhebber in which there's a fellow, some might have herfed with him during the previous EPIC herf ... Rene. (Who came along with Don Fernando for a cigar trip through Orlando). That guy is a NUB lover and suggested the Cameroon ... apparently a great NUB as well. Anyhow, nice review!

Re: Nub Dub (Double Maduro)
Thanks for the review. The Nub Maduro was one of my first favorite cigars. I've thought about giving the Dub a try, but I'm put off by the price point. I'm hoping it ends up being a regular production stick and the price falls down some.

Re: Nub Dub (Double Maduro)
Never liked a Nub I've smoked yet. I thought the regular Nub Maduro tasted nasty. I also don't like the trendy hip hop like name. Nub Dub?

Re: Nub Dub (Double Maduro)
Personal experience gentlemen, NUB DUB is a great cigar. I recently purchased a 10 pack of these babies from CI and they are now in my top 10 best cigars!! I too hope they are here to stay and would like to see them in the stores.
