Can I Use This As A Small Travel Case?
Well I was rummaging through some boxes in the closet and found this. I had bought it back in 2008 when these cigars first came out.
Evidentally they were a huge bust from what I heard but I enjoyed them back then. (http://www.jrcigars.com/index.cfm?pa...ls_bfp-fv_4-07) I was wondering if it would be adequate to use as a travel case? My plan was to take it to work so I can have some cigars to smoke for the day. (I put those cigars in there for display purposes, I didn't find it with them still in it haha) I guess as long as I am not using it for more than a day or so it shouldn't be problem? I also found this travel size playing card deck (as if a deck of regular cards isn't travel size??) and noticed that if I took the cards out I am left with an air tight clear travel case that actually stops when it comes together rather than the one above that could smoosh the cigars if I am not careful. Which one would you guys suggest? I don't want to purchase anything else as I have a 15 count traveldor I use for longer amounts of time than a day or two. |

The first one would work fine for what you want to do. The cigars will be fine for a day or so out of the humidor in those cases. If the cigars are in cello they can stay in one of those even longer.
I'm not to keen on the plastic one since it offers little side protection and if it's in your pocket and it bends, it'll pop open at the seam and can fold or snap your cigars. Another thing I would check with the plastic case is if it has any odor. If it does, wash it out well and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, you might not want to use it for cigars. Thanks bro. I think I will follow your advice and stick with the first one and then reusing old tins from cigars I bought in the past.

No problem bro.
I did that for years with an old Montecristo Afrique 3-cigar fold open tin. So long as I stuck with robusto-ish sized cigars, it worked fine. |

Haha very nice. I have a 15 count Cigar Caddy but I plan on using this three count one for in my pocket. The 15 count is too big to lug around while I am working.
In regards to the picture, I bet you could fit alot more than just that 30 in there though haha. |

Me, I use on a consistent basis an empty M&M Minis plastic tube as a "travel case" for a single cigar. As long as the stogie's no longer nor fatter than a corona, this works just fine. And this is despite the fact that I own a half-dozen or so nice leather cigar cases. I can slip this tube into a shirt or hip pocket with much greater ease.
Hey, whatever works, right? I'm not likely to impress anybody anyway, so why try? |

I'm sure it works fine, if one needs to go for larger diameter cigars, Ron has lots of good inexpensive offerings: http://www.cigarsolutions.com/produc...igar-Tube.html http://www.cigarsolutions.com/produc...vel-Tubes.html http://www.cigarsolutions.com/produc...ard-Caddy.html and a few more on his site that will link from the bottom of the pages. I don't know if this promo is still valid, would have to ask him: http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=44598 |

I'm glad I could lob you such a softball, and I fully expected somebody to take a hack at it. Just FYI, I also slipped a cedar wrap off an old dead soldier into the tube, to give the chocolate a woody hint. P. S. : I used to know Steve Saka back inna day, so talk to him instead of Jonathan, and let him know the concept came from The Poet off the old JRBB. |

I wouldn't use either of them. Don't you and any Tubos laying around, I keep a bunch just for carrying singles. I also have a 5er otterbox knock off that is my daily carry.
