America in color 1939-1943
I hope this hasn't been posted before. I just stumbled onto this wonderful set of old photos from long ago. I love old black and white movies from this era with those huge mansions wiith winding staircases and mile high doors, but I knew this wasn't real America. Outside of a Hollywood movie studio, this was the stark reality of American life.

Thanks. Couldn't help but wonder about the lives and futures of all the people in those photos. I also wonder if we can measure up to their strength and sacrifices.
