Just killing Time

Why things happen the way the do.
One of the boys on my sons 10 year old baseball team who already has anger issues because he doesn't have a father figure in his life lost his mother in a car accident on Thursday. Now he has no one.You often hear when someone dies people will say so and so's work was done on earth and god brought here home. How could a 35 year old single mom of a 10 year old troubled boy's work be done.I just have a hard time wrapping my mind around this one.

Sorry to hear of such horrific news. I can't imagine what that little boy will have in store for him and I whole heartily agree with your thoughts.

Re: Why things happen the way the do.
Tough question. I try to have faith in God. And, many times in my own life, I didn't understand why something happened, only to see later that it really was for a purpose. So, in most cases, I subscribe to the idea that everything happens for a reason.
However, there are those tragedies in life ... the death of a young child for example or situations like the one you describe ... where I just can't see the purpose. I've asked many priests and pastors through the years to tell me what they thought about this. I've yet to receive a good explanation. |

Some things are just hard to understand. I truly believe everything happens for a reason and there is a plan for all of us.
