Celtic Cross
I have determined this is the drink of 2011.
I forgot how much I enjoy Drambuie and had a couple Rusty Nails and a few Drambuies straight and on the rocks over the holidays. This of course, led to "Oh crap, I ran out of (mixable) Scotch" one day, and I substituted Some Michael Collins for the scotch. I thought I was onto something original. (Yeah, I knew it wasn't, but in my half lit state, it felt good to let my fuzzy brain think it.) http://www.barnonedrinks.com/drinks/...ross-7985.html I have also tried it with Zaya..... It requires more testing, and is awfully sweet, but with a tweak (or three) I have in mind... may not suck, and I need to think of a name for it. At least until spring, anyway. Re: Celtic Cross
Pete! How can you mix ZAYA!?!?! That's blasphemy! It HAS to be illegal! Someone confiscate his liquor! STAT!
Better yet, just bring it with you on Sunday! |

Re: Celtic Cross
Yeah......I find Zaya mixes well with a glass. Anything more and why pay ~$40 a bottle to dilute it with something else.

Re: Celtic Cross
here's your drink for 2011 Pete, especially since you got sidetracked into rum:
http://www.barnonedrinks.com/drinks/...ormy-1620.html Goslings makes a ginger beer as well, I use that mostly. Recommend use an upside down spoon to "float" the run into the ginger beer and you get the cool two tone effect. If your just drinkin' to drink - than mix away. Love me some Rusty Nails even if they are an old lady's drink!!! Hope you're well! |

Re: Celtic Cross
I have had a few Dark & Stormys, and enjoy them quite a bit.
The secret is Sprechers Ginger ale. How about I make those the Drink of Spring and Summer, 2011? |
