Re: pipe builders Cherry
That is a nice and unique grain.
Also nice freehand work from what the photos show. EDIT - Bottom photo, to the left of your thumb, is that a defect/pit in the wood? Or just an odd reflection or grain causing it to look that way in the photo? |

Re: pipe builders Cherry
very nice pipe there. In answer to your original question there was a french company that made cherry wood pipes for many years and they were great smokers on account of their naturally sweeter taste. However there are not many left due to their propensity for burnouts.

Re: pipe builders Cherry
My wife bought me a Cherry Burl from TC Fuller and I have absolutely loved it. Had it for about a year now. My buddy's wife got one from TC about 2 years ago and loves hers. This one is mine.
Yours looks fantastic! Glad to hear it smokes well! Glad to see more pipe makers experimenting with new woods. |

Re: pipe builders Cherry
Almost every maker offers cherry-wood pipes. I don't own any, but were I shopping for a pipe and the cost, shape and capacity were right, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a cherry-wood pipe.
