Question Random mystery tin

Last night, I came home from work to find a package in my mailbox. In it was a new tin of baccy that I'd never heard of. I'm certain it wasn't a bomb because there was no note and the return address seemed to be a business address (I can't remember what it was). Now, I don't necessarily remember signing up for a free sample, but anything's possible. Does anybody know of a baccy called Blend 5? It smells pretty good, but I haven't smoked a bowl yet, but I may very well smoke one tonight.

Did you sign up for the Altadis free sample?

Blend 5 - Perfect for fans of Dunhill 965. A robust English blend with character. Plenty of Latakia, Pressed Virginia and Burley provide the base.

Seems to be doing the rounds? Guess it's either a free sample, or someone out there likes this blend and is making sure you all like it too!

An Altadis sample that isn't syrupy, what they couldn't sell, goo?
That's pretty groovy.

I tend to like Altadis products, but like they say: there's no accounting for taste. On the other thread, mariogolbee said it was delicious; I'm pretty psyched!

I, too, got a tin out of the blue yesterday. A Maple Rum or something. I remembered that I ordered the Altadis sampler at the start of summer, but I sure didn't see Altadis anywhere on the tin. But, this must be what I ordered. I've found I like rum flavors and not vanilla so far early on in my experimentation.

I smoke some of the syrupy ones they sent me last time occasionally. Sometimes you kind of want that Butter Rum Lifesaver thing in a pipe.
Sometimes you want a cool, smoky mellow, spicy campfire.

The Blend No.5 is a nice easy english blend. Not as good as 965, imho, but still decent. And hey, it was free, right?

I'm gonna give it a spin tonight and see how it is. It sure smells like something I'd like, but I still haven't tried very many.

No. 5 is a blend i keep out on the porch or in the garage for those times when Im trying out a new tobacco and really disliking it. I usually dump out what Im smoking and fill it with No. 5 at that point.

That sounds like a ringing endorsement to me, Mikey!

Been thinking of picking up a few tins of the new sutliffe stuff. It's damn cheap. Worth a shot, but I have like 40 tins sitting that need to be "tried"...
