Devil's weed nicot
Devil’s weed is the first cigar from Molina Cigars, a brand new cigar manufacturer from the Dominican Republic. The cigar is made from 4 different Dominican leafs as a filler, a Dominican binder and an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. It comes neatly packed in a paper wrap with Devil’s weed logo and once you remove it you find a cigar with a light and oily wrapper and one of the most beautiful cigar bands I have ever seen. The aroma of the cigar is the aroma of white pepper. The size of the cigar I smoked, the corona sized Nicot, is 5 5/8 inch with a 46 ring.
When I light the cigar I could taste mild and soft leather, clearly not the kind of leather that you get from a lot of Cuban cigars, this is mellow and slowly it goes creamy. After finishing half the cigar I notice the creaminess disappear and the leather grows a bit in strength. There is an overture with pepper, chocolate and wood. This is a very nice cigar, medium to mild but yet full flavored. I really nubbed it. There was more than enough smoke, the ash was dark and firm and I had no burn issues Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, if they become available for Europe Construction: 16 / 20 Draw: 14 / 20 Appearance: 16 / 20 Smoke & ash: 7 / 10 Burn: 14 / 20 Aroma (first part) 7 / 10 Aroma (middle part) 7 / 10 Aroma (last part) 8 / 10

Re: Devil's weed nicot
I've refrained from smoking the one you sent me due to the "weed." Don't need to piss hot while in Iraq

Re: Devil's weed nicot
Great review, I keep wanting to bite on the insane prices CI has but haven't done so yet.

Re: Devil's weed nicot
From what I know they are a different blend than the original release. It's a CI only blend. Anyone tried it?

Re: Devil's weed nicot
Yes. I have. They start off as bland, get some good mild flavors, the flavors disappear for a couple of inches, then the flavor comes back and tastes good, then it gets bitter followed by a swift punt. I haven't revisited them for a while but I have a box left. You wanna try a couple?

I bought a box from CI. Smoked one and gave the rest to my brother, who smoked them all. Atleast one person enjoyed em!

Re: Devil's weed nicot
It is the same cigar, CI bought out all of their stock. I tried a couple and they did nothing for me. This was when they first came out. And only the first production had tissue wrapped around them, so when you get them from CI they have no tissue but still same blend.

Re: Devil's weed nicot
I asked Molina Cigars on twitter and this was their response....
@shrtcrt @dannysguitar it is a custom blend and not the original cab selection |

"Greetings Friends, It has been a while since our last post and I wanted to update you all. We have been out of cigars since last August and have been re-organizing our operations since then. Molina Cigar will be up and running again and we hope to get a new shipment of cigars in the next few months and will post here when we finally do. You can find some of our cigars though (if your Devil's Weed retailer has already run out). Cigars International, one of the largest cigar retailers, has picked up some remaining stock and they are passing on the savings to you. We are excited that they have picked us up as some of you may have retailers in your area that are not carrying our product. A little note: don't worry about the description they have written about us. It was a joke and we are not going out of business. C.I. even offered to drop the description but we feel it creates some buzz and interest. Let us know what you think of the cigars. To order from Cigars International, click here. Saludos, Luis" So make up your own mind, doesn't sound like a new blend to me. |
