Just curious to see if I am the only one or I have just been lucky enough to be stuck behind slow @ss people lately and by lately I mean a few months or maybe I just have not adjusted to a slower lifestyle as I would be curious to hear your opinions and see if it varies by region.

Depends on location. When I am traveling in South Texas, I commonly do 90 or so. There are very few cops--only border patrol. I am white in a company car, so I do not get bothered. Around town in S.A---at or below the speed limit because cops here are crazy.

I fit into the 5-10 over most often but it seems lately I am always stuck behind the people perfectly comfortable doing at least 5-10 Under. It's kind of strange how often it happens lately. So I figured I would see what my fellow inmates do.

That drives me insane!! I don't mind if people drive under the speed limit, just don't do it in the fast lane when there's open road in front of you!!

on the first remark, not on the second part. For me it depends on the enviroment, in habitated area's I stick to the speed limit, or even below, especially when I see children or pets outside. On the highway or on roads out of habitated areas I will drive faster, usually 5% faster than allowed, as I wont get tickets then.

Surface streets usually 5 over, unless it is a large divided road. Interstate, usually 5-10 over, occasionally faster if the "need" arises. I do have one exception, I-696. The speed limit is 70 and it is not uncommon to have a steady flow of traffic passing you while you're going 80-85. The speed limit on that road is only a suggestion. I used to live just 1/4 mile off I-696 so I drove it a lot. Now I'm 50 miles away so, I don't drive on it much anymore.

BTW, radar detector is my friend.

Also, kids, residential areas I will drive under the speed limit. Especially when there are a lot of parked cars on the road where you can't see well.

I do about 30k a year and around here it is either bumper-to-bumper or you are doing 75 and getting passed by minivans full of kids.

I just did front brakes pads that I had previously done in June of 2009

Having driven Boston-Worcester-Boston earlier this year, I can attest to the crazy mom-in-minivan happenings in the general Boston area.

Depends on where I am driving. On the interstates or 4 lane divided roads - 5 to 20 over and maybe even a tad more. In residential areas - right at the posted speed limit with no more than 1 or 2 over.

Same way, pretty much. I set my cruise at 10 miles over on the highway. In residential areas, at the speed limit or considerably lower depending on what's going on around me.

I drive it like I stole it. But I drive a Merc Sprinter. So, driving it like I stole it generally means like any other White Van Man in the UK

I usually keep it about 5 over the posted limits on highways and major thoroughfares but usually drive slower then posted in residential areas because I don't want to hit a kid.

I'm the same way in residential areas. I probably should have specified main thoroughfares as I get pissed when I see people speeding through the neighborhood. Most of my neighbors probably think I am insane because when I see people speeding through the subdivision I am usually the one walking down to their house to give them an @ss chewing. We have way to many young kids in our neighborhood who run into the street without even thinking to look before stepping out so I know it's only a matter of time before one gets tagged. It's not fun trying to pull a kid out from the undercarriage of a car. Had to do it once when in the fire service back in NY and don't look forward to ever having to do it again.

I know the feeling. When on the bike I find it tough to keep it less than 20 over. The other morning I blasted away from a light and had to stop at the next light only to realize a LEO was in the lane next to me. Very surprised he didn't pull me over as I deserved to be since I got on it way to hard but sometimes she just begs me to beat on her. Lately I have been really contemplating getting rid of it because I know it's just a matter of time before I really get bagged for either speeding or wreckless and the speeding ticket I will probably get will probably fall under the wreckless category anyway.
