Mr. Coffee
I am about to buy this coffee maker. I drink occasionally at the house, so nothing big for me. What do you guys think?

Re: Mr. Coffee
A french press could brew perfect coffee for a lifetime;
a modest burr grinder alongside would insure it. A manual pourover with gold metal filter could brew perfect coffee for a lifetime; a modest burr grinder alongside would insure it. A manual pourover with paper filter could brew perfect coffee for a lifetime; a cheepo whirley blade grinder alongside would insure it.

Re: Mr. Coffee
For example: http://coffeegeek.com/guides/presspot - here find one of 15-billion references to "french press" on the internet. Bodum is the cat daddy; Bodum Columbia is my personal #1.
References on boiling water: http://www.wikihow.com/Boil-Water Methodology: put coffee in the press, fill with water 20-seconds off the boil, stir, wait 4-minutes, mash down the press-filter. Any dripper from $20 to $250 is fine if it produces brew water between 195-205*F. Experience sez almost any cheap dripper is a crap shoot. French press always works. Coffee can't be brewed much better than this but can always be brewed worse. Period.

I'll second that, Moo. Greater rate of return on a french press in my experience. Love that Bodum Columbia--it's a real winner.

Re: Mr. Coffee
It is the schizz. (But, being fair to the $20 MrC lovers everywhere... I am also a fan of the formerly $10 Gevalia promotional brewer. You know the drill; get the brewer and a pound of coffee for $X.XX, then cancel the subscription and keep the brewer. I had very good luck with two of them over the years.)
