The Last Station
"A historical drama that illustrates Russian author Leo Tolstoy's struggle to balance fame and wealth with his commitment to a life devoid of material things."
In the past year I have seen just one film Crazy Heart, before I finally went to see the movie "The Last Station" directed by Michael Hoffman, based on the novel by Jay Parini. I enjoy historical stories, since I have written a historical fiction. And I also enjoy bio pics. Though Christopher Plummer was terrific, Helen Mirren was superb and she should have won an academy award. At least she was nominated... and I have yet to see The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. Mirren and Plummer were so good that I teared at the end. Helen Mirren is one of the best. |
