New Car
Just got home from purchasing my new car. Got myself a 2007 Mercedes Benz C280 4matic. It white with white tan interior and 30,500 miles. I had test drove a black 2007 BMW 328xi coupe that I absolutely loved but the dealer would not budge at all on the price and I got the feeling he was not a stand up guy so I decided to walk and take my business elsewhere. I am really happy with my car accept I wish it had a little bit more giddy up off the line. Once you get going its really smooth and quick but off the line its sluggish. The Beemer was fast as a jet and its probably for the best I didn't get it as I have a heavy foot.

Re: New Car
I personally didn't think I needed a new car but my parents wanted to make sure I had a reliable ride for the 30 hour trip down to Texas from NY and that I would have something that would last me a good number of years now that I have left their roof.

Re: New Car
Nice car! Mercedes 4matic is one of the best AWD systems out there. My mothers S-class drives better in the snow then my SUV.
My only rule, is that you should never buy a new Mercedes. Too much of a hit driving it off the lot. |

Re: New Car
I've got a 98 E class wagon. It is huge car with a 3 liter turbo diesel. 259K Kilometers on it(about 161K miles) She happily ran at about 170 K/PH (110 mph) down to Ramstein today. MBs are generally rock solid, and actually relatively cheap for parts over here compared to the other national brands.

Re: New Car
The only thing I disliked about the car today when I test drove it was the lack of giddy up that it had. My dad has a 2004 BMW 325xi and that baby is quick, really wish the Mercedes was similar.

Re: New Car
My wife has one of these and absolutely loves it. She was very disappointed when I recently bought a Lexus instead of a second Benz. You made a good choice.
I second the thought of tinting the windows. It made a hell of a difference on hers. Congratulations. |
