Cleaning a Palio cutter
I have the standard black plastic Palio. It tends to get some tobacco built up on the edge of the blades. Any tips for cleaning? I thought maybe a little rubbing alcohol but I certainly don't want to cause any damage...

I'm with the alcohol and q-tip crew, but also sprinkle a tiny bit of the powdered silicone or whatever that stuff is that makes it slide really nicely is.
It was recommended on my Xikar, but works just as good on the Palio. I'll look up the name of it when I get home, I really should be working.

Re: Cleaning a Palio cutter
I'm REAL sure I wouldn't want to be smoking any graphite powder! Not even a little bit!

I generally scrub mine down with mild soap and a toothbrush, and then clean the tracks with rubbing alcohol, and after its all dry, just a tiny bit of graphite powder on the tracks. Also, I've never seen any graphite make its way to my cigar.

Unless you are just dumping a bunch on the rails, I can't see how you would transfer it. It doesn't take much.

I put a speck on the tracks, not any on the blade.
Wouldn't want to engage in any risky behavior like putting unsafe stuff in my lungs for heaven's sake!!
