Default Humidor

I was wondering if you could use sterile water instead of distilled water in humidors? Since I do not have access to distilled will it work? Please let me know. Thank you

The short answer is, "yes, of course." The longer answer is that if what you are referring to is sterilized for human consumption, then mold spores MAY still be present and dissolved solids WILL still be present. That being said, moist cigars with the possible exposure to mold and the definite exposure to a thin coating of saline solids are still better than dry cigars.

Go for it! Don't worry, be happy. I'm assuming there's nothing in there you plan on laying down for the next generation.

Thank you. I guess I will go for it and try it out. Its only a helf a dor and holds 5 cigars so cannot be too bad.

For a 5-ct herf-a-dor, I wouldn't even do that. I'd actually be MORE worried about mold in such a small space. I have 5, 10, 15 and 24 ct herf-a-dor's/cigar caddies, and I have NEVER used the built in spongy humidifier. Those things are notorious for mold.

Get a heartfelt sheet or a mini boveda pack.

Edit: Hell, I'll send you a couple of tablespoons of heartfelt beads in a piece of pantyhose, should work fine for that tiny herfador.

PM me if you're interested.

I have a 1/2 ounce cachet of Shilala's beads that I make for cigar caddies. It works pretty well (I have been using a few myself for a couple of months).

The beads didn't want to travel alone, so they brought along some friends.
