I see mold all the time at my local OVTC, but nothing like those La Riquezas.
Those had so much mold I didn't read the description and thought they were Cuban Fonseca's with the tissue paper wrapped around the cigars!!!

Re: Update on Moldy Cigars @ B&M
Excel,
I would explain to the store that they have a problem probably in a certain part of the humidor. Cigars with no cello should not be exposed to heavy humidity without some type of movement or airflow. They look like they were sitting in a corner and the shop owner forgot about them. The other part is that it could be his humidifier. Some machines blow out mist and the minerals in the water turn into a white powder like dust. This with a combo of too much humidity can make a cigar look exactly like those. If the cigars were really soft to touch, it's a humidity issue. If they were normal feeling, that could be the humifier powder. If he doesn't take the information kindly, oh well and move on. Give him a try again to see if he gets it. |
